When individuals feel part of and connected to their team, they are more likely to feel included and have a sense that they belong to that team. And when individuals feel like they belong, they are more likely to feel safe to voice their thoughts and opinions, whether that be to raise an idea or to offer a different perspective. It is through this sense of belonging and subsequent psychological safety that diversity of thought and difference can be fully realised.
